STARBOT Franchise · Own the kiosk · UK

A coffee business. Without the coffee shop.

Run your own robot barista — a six-axis arm that grinds, brews and serves specialty coffee in under a minute, open whenever the building is. You get the kiosk, the coffee supply, the software and the training, in a location validated with footfall data before you sign. No fit-out, no rota, no 5am shifts.

The short answer
What you get

The kiosk, the exclusive coffee supply, the software and the training — in a location we check with you before either of us commits.

What it costs

Entry is one published format: £1,790 a month on a five-year lease, nothing up front, and the kiosk is yours at the end.

What you do daily

An hour or two. Restock, wipe down, read the numbers off your phone. That is the whole job description.

The calculator below is the honest version: your venue type, your footfall, and what a month could realistically leave you.See what you would keep
The format

The shop is the machine.

A café needs 20 m², a fit-out, a lease and a rota. This needs 2.5 m², a socket and internet — which is why it opens in lobbies, campuses and concourses a café can never touch, and why one owner can run more than one.

  • The kiosk — robot arm, specialty grade beans, fresh milk, card-only payments
  • The supply chain — beans, milk, cups arrive on a route we run
  • The software — telemetry, remote monitoring, sales reporting live
  • The training — operations, standards and the numbers that matter
  • The site — chosen on real numbers, not on a hunch

Sixty seconds, and nobody clocked in.

This is the entire operation you would own: a box of lit glass, the cup that comes out of it, and the people who come back for another. Nobody to hire, nobody to cover, and no bad day behind the counter.

The brand exists. The machine exists and is trading. The beans have a roast profile and a route to your door, the software has a support desk behind it and every unit is watched from the cloud. What is left is the part that is genuinely a business — the site, the standards, the growth. That is what you are buying, and it is why this is not the same as ordering a coffee machine.

Our side

Everything that is not your day.

  • The kiosk — built, delivered, installed and commissioned on your site, with your training done on the day
  • Exclusive coffee — Specialty Grade 1, hand-selected, from Brazil and Guatemala, roasted exclusively for STARBOT. Nobody else sells this cup.
  • The supply chain — beans, milk, cups and lids managed and routed to you. You never go sourcing.
  • Ongoing technical support — engineers, spares and repairs for the life of the unit. A problem with the machine is our problem to fix.
  • Cloud monitoring — every unit streams sales and faults in real time, and most issues are diagnosed and cleared remotely before anyone on site notices
  • The platform — payments, menu, reporting and updates, maintained centrally and pushed to your kiosk
The blends and roast profiles stay ours to supply, which is the point: the cup does not drift when the operator changes.
Your side

One to two hours a day.

  • Keep it stocked and presentable — a restock and a wipe-down. It self-cleans between drinks.
  • Hold the site relationship — the building, the access, the licence, the position on the floor
  • Watch the numbers — live sales from anywhere, on the same telemetry we see
  • Grow it — a second unit, a second building. The format is designed to repeat, and one owner can run several.
No rota, no baristas, no payroll and no 20 m² lease. There is no shift to cover because there is nobody to roster — the kiosk trades whenever the building is open, including the hours a café would be shut.
No plumbingNo drainageNo on-site serversRuns off one socketInternetThrough standard doors

Plug and play in the literal sense. It wants a socket and a connection, and it fits through a normal doorway — which is why an installation is a visit rather than a building project, and why a kiosk opens in places a café could never be fitted out.

Your numbers

Roughly what would you keep a month?

Three choices, one answer. Pick the kind of site, drag the footfall, and see what a month’s trading could leave you with once VAT and the running costs are out.

Where would it stand?
2% of campus flow — our planning rate for universities, holidays included.
Average cup

Financing the kiosk rather than buying it? Your monthly payment is on the lease page — published rate card, working calculator.

Approximate by design. Running costs — coffee, milk, cups, rent, royalty and the service fee — typically come to 40–50% of net takings, and that band is the whole assumption here. The venue rates are our own planning rates, annualised: a strong week beats them and August does not. This is an illustration for a first conversation, not a forecast and not an earnings claim — the real numbers are agreed, in writing, before you sign anything.

Questions

What franchisees ask first.

How much does the franchise cost?

Entry is one published format: £1,790 a month on a five-year lease through Tower, nothing up front, and the kiosk is yours at the end of the term. The same figure for every franchisee — the only thing we work out with you on the first call is the site, because that is what decides the takings.

What exactly do I get?

A business in a box: the kiosk, the coffee supply chain, the software and telemetry, training, and a location validated with data before you commit to it. You operate; we keep the machine poured and the beans arriving.

Do I need coffee experience?

No — and that is the point of the format. The robot pulls every shot the same way; your job is the site, the standards and the numbers, not latte art at 7am.

Who finds the location?

We validate it together, with data — footfall, dwell, what else is open and when. A kiosk in the wrong corridor fails for both of us, so siting is never guesswork.

How is it financed?

Through Tower Leasing if you want it financed — the full rate card and calculator are public on the lease page. Trading under three years? There is a new-start card for that too.

What does a unit actually take per day?

The evidence we publish: 150 cups a day at City St George's, University of London, within the first two months, at menu prices from £2.00. One site, one building type — your number depends on yours.
