A coffee shop,
shrunk into a kiosk.

STARBOT is the UK's first robot barista — a six-axis arm behind glass, pouring Specialty Grade 1 coffee to a proper café standard, with nobody behind the counter.

Why it works

People stop to watch.
Then they order.

A robot arm pulling a live shot is theatre, and it stops the people who walk straight past a vending machine without seeing it. What brings them back the next morning is the cup.

The draw

A six-axis bionic arm brews in full view behind glass. Every cup is a small show — and a post on someone's story.

The repeat

Hand-picked beans ground to order, fresh milk textured on the shot, recipes a head barista signed off. It tastes like a coffee shop because it is one.

The economics

No staff, no fit-out, no back of house. A full café's takings from one corner of floor — earning from day one.

Watch it work

Sixty seconds of robot theatre

Same cup at seven in the morning and eleven at night. No off days, no queue out of the door, no "sorry, the machine's down".

The numbers

What would it take at your place?

Pick the kind of building and drag the footfall. The rates behind it are the ones we use ourselves before committing a kiosk anywhere — and one kiosk tops out at ~500 cups a day, whatever the crowd.

Average cup

These are our own planning rates — the ones we use before committing a kiosk to a site, annualised rather than picked from a good week. Output is capped at 500 cups a day, one kiosk's realistic ceiling, and a 12-month ramp-up is applied to year one. An illustration, not a forecast.

The questions we get on every call

Our own planning rate for a campus is 2% of the flow going past, and our first London site does about 150 cups a day against that. Before anything is installed we check your spot against real footfall, so the number is agreed in writing before the kiosk arrives — not discovered afterwards.

About 2.5 m² at ground level, a 16A single-phase power connection and stable internet. No plumbing required (a plumbed water line is preferred where available). It fits through standard entrance doors — installation and training are handled by our engineers.

Almost nobody — that is the point. It self-cleans and streams its sales and faults to our monitoring platform. A local operator gives it an hour or two a day: beans, milk, cups, a wipe-down. Nothing to roster, nothing to train, nobody to cover when they call in sick.

A specialty coffee offer your visitors actually use, with none of the operational burden of a café tenant. We install, operate and maintain the kiosk; your site gains dwell-time, a talking point, and a commercial return on a corner that was earning nothing.

Everything but the building: the kiosk, our exclusive coffee supply, the software, the training and the support — in a location we validate with footfall data first, so you're not gambling on a spot. Flexible entry models are available; request the investment pack for current terms.

Our first kiosk is live on the Clerkenwell campus — the address and opening hours are here. More UK sites are being signed now, with rail and campus locations next in the pipeline. For the right spot we will travel: anywhere in the UK or Europe, because strong footfall matters far more than the postcode.
